His clients include engineering, architectural, construction, environmental, technology, healthcare, and law firms.
Rolf's siting experience includes community relations and communications support on the expansion and upgrade of a major electric transmission line hub and substation complex, citizens outreach to help convince residents that capping a hazardous waste lagoon was an environmentally safe alternative, resolution of a very adversarial project to site a transmission line crossing the Merrimac River that brought community activists and the utility working together to expedite the line, and a series of public meetings and discussions with public officials that helped to quickly move a contaminated W.R. Grace plant site into the remediation phase.
Earlier in his career, Rolf was vice president of corporate communications for Camp Dresser & McKee. He won numerous communication and design awards for marketing tools and programs, including the national and local chapters of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), International Association of Business Communicators, and Society for Technical Communications. Rolf began his career in communications as an editor for Engineering News-Record in New York City. He focused on environmental, energy, building, and water resources issues.

He is the author PSMJ's Public Relations Survival Guide, which was published in 2000. He is also publisher of the Publicity Directory for the A/E/C Industry, the only comprehensive media guide of its kind now in its 17th edition. Rolf, a Fellow, has been active in SMPS for over 25 years. He was national chairman of the SMPS national awards program from 1984 to 1987, and reprised that role in 2008.
