Although new to a green industrial product and market, I have been able to gain product placement in key trade publications, author attention grabbing articles, and become established as an industry expert - all in a short time period. C+CC has been a fundamental part of my marketing success!

Rolf Fuessler, APR, FSMPS, has over 35 years of journalism, public relations, and marketing communications experience. He has worked as a magazine editor, corporate communications vice president, and marketing communications consultant.
As a consultant over the last 25 years, he has worked with nearly 200 companies around the country, managing major programs and projects for, and providing consulting to, both market leaders and emerging firms. His clients include engineering, architectural, construction, environmental, technology, healthcare, and law firms.
Rolf's siting experience includes community relations and communications support on the expansion and upgrade of a major electric transmission line hub and substation complex, citizens outreach to help convince residents that capping a hazardous waste lagoon was an environmentally safe alternative, resolution of a very adversarial project to site a transmission line crossing the Merrimac River that brought community activists and the utility working together to expedite the line, and a series of public meetings and discussions with public officials that helped to quickly move a contaminated W.R. Grace plant site into the remediation phase.
Earlier in his career, Rolf was vice president of corporate communications for Camp Dresser & McKee. He won numerous communication and design awards for marketing tools and programs, including the national and local chapters of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), International Association of Business Communicators, and Society for Technical Communications. Rolf began his career in communications as an editor for Engineering News-Record in New York City. He focused on environmental, energy, building, and water resources issues.
An accredited member of PRSA and a past president of the Publicity Club of Boston, Rolf has written and lectured extensively on media relations and communication topics. He is the author PSMJ's Public Relations Survival Guide, which was published in 2000. He is also publisher of the Publicity Directory for the A/E/C Industry, the only comprehensive media guide of its kind now in its 17th edition. Rolf, a Fellow, has been active in SMPS for over 25 years. He was national chairman of the SMPS national awards program from 1984 to 1987, and reprised that role in 2008. He will be co-chair of the 2010 SMPS national conference to be held in Boston.
He has degrees from SUNY Stony Brook, Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!), and New York University. Rolf is married and lives in Jamaica Plain. When not working, you may find him flying from various mountaintops in New England and around the world in his paraglider.
